After many weeks of waiting today was finally the day we were able to cut over from our 40Mbit HickoryTech internet connection to our shiny new 100Mbit Onvoy internet connection.
As is the case with many new things, there are a few bugs to be worked out. One such bug came to light tonight. At about 5:00pm traffic from HickoryTech customers wan unable to find its way to Gustavus due to some routing issues somewhere on the internet. At 9:00pm I was able to bring back our old HickoryTech connection in such a way that DSL users in town are able to get to Gustavus network resources again. Hopefully we can get that issue resolved on Tuesday and all enjoy the new faster internet.
