Every day it seems like we are sending and recieving more and more email. That means every day our email system is more and more loaded. A couple of weeks ago we hit the limit as to how much email our disks could handle for everyone’s inboxes.
We store all the users inboxes on a set of 9 fibre channel disks. On Friday we added another 9 fibre channel disks to this storage area. Thus we should see about twice the performance. I really hope that will last us at least until the end of the year 🙂
At the same time we also applied all the latest patches and updates to our email/home directory cluster. So far there is just one problem and that was with the IMAP server update, but maybe I will say more about that in another post.
