Friday Maintenance Posted on November 11th, 2005 by

For the past few weeks the load on our email servers, specifically the ones responsible for imap/pop/webmail, have been unable to keep up with the increasing demand. Thus causing access to imap/pop/webmail to be unavailable during times of peek usage. Delivery of email was not affected. To help alleviate the issue, we have spent the past week concentrating on developing, testing, and benchmarking a new disk array. We believe that performance should be greatly improved.

On Friday, November 11th at 5:00pm we shut down email and home directory access in order to migrate our inboxes to a faster disk array. At about 7:30pm those services were restored. During this time new email was queued and then delivered when service was restored.
